H3 military complex, Iraq. Satellite image of the H3 military complex, located at the al Walid airbase, east Iraq. The complex is comprised of four airfields with runways that can accommodate heavy aircraft. The runways are little used as they are within the zone where flights by Iraqi aircraft have been banned since the 1991 Gulf War. The US suspects that missiles are being stored at or near the bases. Image taken on 28 June 2001 by Space Imaging's Ikonos satellite.
