A heavy flintlock rifle, German, circa 1720. Heavy octagonal barrel, slightly constricted diameter in the middle, with seven groove rifled bore in 18 mm calibre. Dovetailed sights. Chiselled strip of beads at the base of the barrel, with the mark "T" stamped on the side. Smooth flintlock with a stepped rim. Side plate has wing screws. Double set trigger. Trigger guard with finger rests. Walnut full stock with bone nose cap. Lightly engraved iron furniture. Thimbles of engraved bone. Patch box lid replaced. Ramrod missing.
