Hams have long held out a helping hand tonewcomers on an individual basis. In the pastfew years, more and more radio clubs havebeen offering formal courses in amateur radiofor beginners, with club members sharing theteaching tasks. Prospective hams have beenattracted to the courses by notices m thepapers, in schools, and at Scout and civicclub meetings.
