Looking SSW uphill at a waterlogged rectangular earthwork & an enigmatic ruined building at Fron Uchaf on the lower NW flank of Moel y Parc, Denbighshire, UK. The E (L) side of the building was two-storey & has 'ecclesiatical' features such as curved & bifoil sandstone lintels, whereas the W end (R) is more vernacular with a fireplace, internal chimney & flat wooden lintels. Were there two phases of building &/or two different functions? As the site lies just below the course of an old road once used as a pilgrim route it may have had a partly religious function at one time. The earthwork may have served as a fishpond.
