There is a fine view from this part of the Thames riverbank at Abingdon; if you look up, you can see the medieval St Helens Church, the famous beauty spot of St Helens Wharf (to which it gave its name), plus fine vistas of the river, fields and suburbs of Abingdon. Look down, though, and this is what you get - a load of Greylag Geese collecting around my shadow. Who's to say which is better?
