Perforating wounds of the kidney, if purely posterior, do not involvethe peritonetmi; if anterior, they do. The symptoms are escape of blood andurine by the wound; hematuria is usual, but not invariable; pain as in rup-ttire; the patient may be unable to micturate; and nausea, vomiting, and con-stitutional signs of hemorrhage exist.
