The building is situated at the southern end of the college’s main Ipswich Road campus. As well as providing a vibrant space to stimulate students’ creativity, the new building has also been designed to emit low levels of carbon. The designs meet Breeam Excellent standard, and green features include natural and mechanical ventilation systems, ground source heating, brown water recycling and solar panels. The college retains its 250-seat theatre in the adjacent Norfolk Building for public performances of music, dance, acting and musical theatre. The new facility is open to the local community, who will be able to enjoy a public exhibition space on the ground floor with shows of students’ work.
