The M/V Yavari was a steam powered metal boat ordered by the Peruvian government in 1861 andlaunched in 1870 afer being carried overland in 2766 pieces and reassumbled on the sores of Lake Titicaca. Today it has been restored and will again carry passengers out on the lake.
