Loughran was born in Warren, R. 1.,where he attended the public schools, and later enteied theGrand Seminary, Montreal, where he studied theology. Hewas ordained to the priesthood in 1886, by the Right Fabre. His first appointment was at St. MarysChurch, Taunton, Mass., where he remained three years asassistant pastor. He was then transferred to the SacredHeart Church in East Providence. He was again trans-ferred to St. Theresas Church at Olneville, where he re-mained some years, when he was sent to the Sacred HeartChurch in Taunton, Mass., where he remained until he re-ceived his appointment as pastor of the Sacred Heart KEY.
