The design of Messrs. Hansom and Welch, which the draw-ings will best illustrate, was a simple Corinthian temple (after theexample of that of Jupiter Stator), mounted on an elevated rusticbasement; which basement was so arranged as to afford all theconveniences of entrances, corridors, and saloons necessary togive comfort to the hall, and to afford every possible facility ofingress and egress to and from it. of the Birmingham Neiv Toivn Hall. 19. ft. 10 60 ft.
