The Geneva Experiment Station has planted almost every known variety, both from Europe and America, and most of these were on exhibition. In competition with these were two plates of the Chautauqua Gooseberry, which overshadowed everything else shown for size and beauty. One year. No. 1, each SI ; 2 year. Said to be similar in habit of plant to Shaf- fer, of which it is a seedling, but is a more vigorous grower and more productive. The berries ad- here to the stems better than Shaffer. Canes are a light color, foliage healthy, roots strong and spreading, and penetrating to a good depth, enabling it to resist drouth. It pr opagates from tips. Fruit is very large, somewhat conical, color dark small, with a distinct flavor of its own. Does not crumble in picking, and is firm enough to be a good shipper. 50e each. $5 per £30 per 100. APPLES.
