Changdeok Palace, Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Originally built in the 15th century by the kings of the Joseon Dynasty it was used as a secondary residence. Following the destruction of Gyeongbukgung palace during the Japanese invasion in the 1590s, Changdeokgung was rebuilt and became the primary royal residence until 1872.
