Coast Guardsman Art Green, Photographer's Mate first class, of 1491 West Avenue, Bronx, New York, a combat photographer was recently assigned to a Coast Guard manned troop transport operating in European combat waters, and here met crew members Albert Witt, Quartermaster first class, of 1594 Unionport Road, also of the Bronx. Green has covered the European scene with his camera in both the Atlantic and the Mediterranean since January, 1944, and was a survivor in May, 1944 of a torpedoed Coast Guard manned destroyed escort off the coast of Italy during a midnight battle with a German submarine. Witt, who enlisted in October, 1943, has served 22 months on convoy escort and troop transport duty in the Atlantic.
