One ofthese huge trunks, its integrity still spared by timeand the hammer of the scientist, spans a canonsixty feet wide; a bridge of jasper and agate, over-hanging a tree-fringed pool; the realization of aseers rhapsody, squandered upon a desert far fromthe habitations of MOQUIS. The reservation containing the Moqui villages—fair white castles cresting the cliffs of a desertwaste—lies to the north of Winslow, farther awaythan the average tourist will attempt to journey; butthe Moquis themselves may be seen about the sta-tion named.
