Dr. Rene Zielinski, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) scientific recovery expert (SRE), attaches a line level to a string during a DPAA recovery mission in Kamp-Bornhofen, Germany, Aug. 3, 2022. The line level was used to ensure the excavation unit’s string was properly level for an extended period of time. DPAA’s mission is to achieve the fullest possible accounting for missing and unaccounted-for personnel to their families and our nation.
