November 24, 2023: A diesel multiple unit PNR 8000 class train (manufactured by Indonesian firm INKA - 750 passengers) operated as Interprovincial Commuter by the Philippine National Railways (PNR) that celebrate today its 131th anniversary. To concentrate its funds and efforts in the construction of the North-South Commuter Railway project, the PNR earlier started to interrupt some operations since July, such as on the Alabang-Calamba route which is already interrupted for 5 years. The 147-kilometer NSCR project is expected to be completed by 2028. It will link Clark airport to Malolos, Bulacan and Calamba, Laguna to Blumentritt in Manila. The railway projects will provide 51 train sets for the Alabang-Calamba route and seven express train sets for the Clark, Pampanga - Ninoy Aquino International Airport news are about the PNR, headquarters based in Manila, but the photos were taken in the province of Quezon, in the countryside near the City of Lucena.
