The Church of Saint Anthony (Crkva sv. Ante) in Bol on the island of Brac, Croatia at dawn


Church of St. Anthony (formerly St. Bernardine) was built on a prominent position at the top of the Lodge at the beginning of the 16th century. The single-nave church with a quadrangular apse was vaulted with a broken Gothic vault, and a square chapel was added on the south side. Renaissance stone facade with a symmetrical arrangement of openings, above the door there is a window in the shape of a hollow quadrilob, and at the top a high stone transept. The interior of the church is not plastered. It has a rustic altar with a painted wooden antependium with the image of St. Bernardina. On the main altar is a lunette of the Mother of God with the saints of the painter Marinkovic from 1771.
