The two wings of thevenerable edifice were the first to be taken down, and fora number of years their places were occupied by somerudely constructed sheds to give additional accommoda-tion to the dealers in meat, while along the entire front-age roofs projecting over the sidewalk were built, beneathwhich venders of country produce found shelter. Thelarge, familiar lithograph made by Krebs correctly rep-resents all this, while the drawing here given showsthe building in the days of its glory, as remembered inmy 3^outh.
