NORFOLK (December 30, 2016) Friends and family members of Sailors aboard the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) wait on the pier as the ship returns to homeport at Naval Station Norfolk. The Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group conducted a seven-month combat deployment to the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
