() gun, 25 calibers long. The breech mechanism is common to all ; it has beenfound to work with ease and rapidity, a rate of from 35 to40 rounds per minute having been realized. The cockingof the striker is effected by the downward movement of thebreech-block. They are of all kinds only 19 pieces in themechanism, which is shown herewith in figs, i, 2 and general character of the action can be seen in these. .-v:/
