Victoria & Albert Emblem on the Royal Mausoleum at Frogmore Windsor
The emblem of Victoria and Albert embossed on the balustrade at the mausoleum entrance. Prince Albert died of typhoid fever on 14th December 1861 at Windsor Castle. Victoria was devastated and within four days ordered the Frogmore Mausoleum to be built at her own expense in her beloved gardens at Frogmore in the Home Park at Windsor.
