Gordon Hamilton, glaciologist from the University of Maine ( USA) and Leigh Stearns also from Maine set up monitoring equipment on the remote Kangerdlussuaq Glacier in Greenland to measure the rate at which the glacier is moving. Initial results would suggest a rate of flow much larger than expected and could make the glacier one of the fastest moving in the world The Greenpeace ship MY Arctic Sunrise is on a tour of Greenland to document and support scientific work on the impacts and effects of Climate Change
