Crosby spoke with members of the CST and observed their joint operations with local, state and federal authorities, including the police department. The teams conducted ongoing threat assessments and regular sweeps of the area to help ensure the safety of all participants and observers at the event. After the visit, Crosby and his son-in-law attended the Championships’ opening ceremony and watched the track and field events. The World Track and Field Championships ran from July 15-24, and it was the first time the Championships have been held in the United States.
