View of the Merwedekade in Utrecht (right) during the work for the construction of the Veemarkthaven (left) .: De Merwedekade was called Kanaalweg from 1911-1923. In 1923 the part of the street from the Leidseweg to the Jutpaseweg, changed to Merwedekade. After digging the auction port in 1929, the northern section was changed to Muntkade. In 1963 the southern part of the Muntkade, to the degree of Roggenweg, changed to Fentener van Vlissingenkade.
