His home-stead and farm were situated near Muddy River, the presentboundary line between Roxbury and Brookline. Besidesholding many town offices and other public trusts, he was adeputy to the General Court in 1638, also from 1663 to member of the artillery coinpatry in 1668, and lieutenantof the military company of Roxbury from 1653 to 1676.
