APRA HARBOR, Guam (July 22, 2017) – Cmdr. Steven Tarr III, commanding officer of USS Topeka (SSN 754), discusses his submarine's capabilities to retired Guam submariner Sylvan Dejardo and his grandchildren, who are visiting Guam from their hometown of Canyon Lake, Texas, during a tour, July 22. Topeka is assigned to Commander, Submarine Squadron 15, and is one of four Los Angeles-class attack submarines homeported and maintained in Guam as part of the Navy's forward-deployed submarine force, readily capable of meeting global operational requirements.
