Nomad bee


Summer flying species of nomad bee (Nomada Flavopicta), a member of the family Apidae. Like all nomad bees this species uses small Andrena mining bees as hosts for their larvae. Adults visit various flowers feeding on nectar. This species occurs across southern and central Europe. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in August.
