Hundreds of Indian Sikhs arrived in Pakistan for the religious festival 'Besakhi' at a shrine of Gurdwara Punja Sahib, the second most sacred place for Sikhs” Gurdwara Panja Sahib is situated at Hasan Abdal, Every year Sikh yatrees will visit Pakistan to celebrate the Baisakhi festival to mark the beginning of the solar year, particularly Punjabi thank God for good harvest. Gurudwaras, Vaisakhi processions and traditional performances are the highlights of the day. History of Baisakhi traces its origin from the Baisakhi Day celebrations organized by the Tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh to form Khalsa - Brotherhood of Saint Soldiers to fight against tyranny and oppression.
