Collonges la Rouge (south of France): labeled one of the "Most beautiful Villages of France”, the village was built on the fault line of Meyssac. The mystery of this red sandstone’s coloration lies in its iron oxide content (a bit more than 2%) Made up of medieval lanes, small castles and fortified towers, the village is nowadays nicknamed “la cite aux 25 Tours” (the 25 towers village). In the background, Saint Peter's church (eglise Saint Pierre)
