Whale in Love ecological art installation in the Love River, Kaohsiung, Taiwan An art installation designed by Jason Klimoski of Studio KCA from the USA. It is situated on the south side of Qixian Bridge in Kaohsiung's Love River in Taiwan. The whale is 7 storeys tall and is made of 15 tons of household plastic from Kaohsiung's recycled waste, and is designed to raise awareness of ocean conservation and the huge amount of plastic that pollutes the seas. Built over the last few weeks, the installation was completed and launched on 21st January and will remain in place for the 2020 Taiwan Lantern Festival until 31st March 2020. Beach cleaning, guided tours, DIY classes and public speeches will take place during this time.
