Ethel Mary Smyth (1858-1944) English composer and suffragette. She wrote the suffragettes' battle song 'The March of the Women' (1911), choral works, symphonies and operas 'Der Wald' (1901), 'The Wreckers' (1906) and 'The Boatswain's Mate' (1902).
