Dhoon Bay aka Goat Well Bay , near Kirkcudbright, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland , showing the wreck of the Monreith from nearby Wigtown, which had been built in Port William in 1880. On 12th November 1900 she was on a voyage from Newcastle, (Ireland) to Silloth carrying granite kerb stones. During a storm she attempted to take shelter in the mouth of Kirkcudbright Bay but foundered. All aboard managed to get ashore safely. -( Photo taken June 2021)
