In 1861, at the solicitation of his brother,he came to Ovid Centre and began the improvement of a farm of sixty acres, for which he had previously effectedan exchange. He later engaged in the purchase and ship-ment of live stock, his neighbors trusting him for the firstinvestment made in the enterprise.
