Arunah Shepherdson Abell, the second to bear this honoredname, was born at Pikesville, Baltimore county. Maryland, eldestson of Edwin Franklin and Margaret (Curley) Abell. From hisearliest youth he was of a robust constitution, and exceedinglyfond of athletic sports and country life in general. He enjoyedthe advantages of an excellent education, being first a student atMt. St. Marys College at Emmitsburg, Maryland, and then atGeorgetown University, Washington, D. C.
