PEARL HARBOR (June 1, 2018) Rear Adm. Brian Fort, Commander, Navy Region Hawaii and Commander, Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, salutes during a wreath laying ceremony held to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Battle of Midway. The Battle of Midway took place between June 3-7, 1942. The United States Navy defeated a Japanese attack against Midway Atoll, marking a turning point in the war in the Pacific theatre.
