PECTOR. Vol. 1, No. 1. ^^JmrrTTsS?. 25 cents a Year. Salutatory. We make no apology for this little journal, but pve the followingbrief explanation of the reason for its being. The new law whichprovides for a local board of health in every town makes it necessarythat there be a medium of communication between the State Boardand the local boards. A growing interest in sanitary matters amongthe people generally also makes it desirable that there should be, be-sides the Annual Report of the Board, and its circulars, other sourcesof information regarding home and public hygiene, which are easilyavailable. Therefore, the aim will be to make this journal helpful toour local sanitary authorities, and interesting and instructive to thegeneral public. Those who have had their attention turned in thisdirection are the most likely to appreciate the great worth of health-ful conditions and healthful influences. The evolution of the sanitarysense is a somewhat slow process
