With a pair of paddles and a light sail, these Quillayute Indians are bound for deep water with a photographer. They reached a point twenty five miles off the coast in about five hours, where the hunter, in the bow speared a seal. The man in the stern is the son of the hunter and his job is to steer and handle the boat while the hunter attends the killing business. The high bow is the characteristic feature of the Quillyute tribe.; Scope and content: File contains a series of photos dealing with the tradional hunting and fishing methods of Native Americans at the Taholah Agency, Washington.
