Jean-Baptiste Marc Bourgery (1797-1849), French physician and anatomist. Bourgery studied medicine in Paris, then worked as a medical officer at Romilly-sur-Seine. His major work was an 8-volume anatomy atlas 'Traite complet de l'anatomie de l'homme comprenant la medecine operatoire'. He worked on this anatomy atlas from 1830 until his death in 1849, with the last volume published posthumously. It consists of over 2000 pages and over 700 illustrations by Nicolas-Henri Jacob (1782–1871). This artwork, drawn from life, is by French artist Nicolas Eustache Maurin (1799-1850).
