For gardens where not more than one or two thousand plants are wanted, this is by far the most economical way of getting plants, for they never fail to grow if cared for. In addi- tion, a crop of early vegetables can first be and in August or September the strawberries can be transplanted and by June following a full crop of fruit can be har^-ested. In qualit}^ it is equal to the best and surpasses even the Crescent for pro- ductiveness in quarts of berries. In 1896 it gave 12,000 quarts to the acre during the season.
