Red Lion Fish, Pterois volitans, Scorpaenidae. A Venomous Reef Fish from the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Introduced into tropical east Atlantic coastal waters, where it has rapidly increased in numbers. Although there have been no known fatalities caused by lionfish stings, they are reportedly extremely painful.
