This is performed by four dancers, as, for instance,the first and second couples in a longways dance. First man and second woman join right hands, whilesecond man and first woman do the same. Holdinghands, chin high, the four dancers dance round, clock-wise, to places, all facing in the direction in which theyare moving. FIGUEE 18. LEFT-HANDS-ACROSS. This is very similar to the preceding figure, the dancersjoining left instead of right hands and dancing roundcounter-clockwise instead of clockwise.
