Slave craton, Canada. Satellite image of the area containing the geological formation Slave craton in Canada's Northwest Territories. North is at top. Great Slave Lake is at bottom, and Great Bear Lake is at top. This craton, covering approximately 300,000 square kilometres, contains the Earth's oldest intact rock, the Acasta Gneisses (approximately 4 billion years old).
