Ot the gentlemen who were originally instrumentalin bringing forward this project, Hon. j. R. Thibau-deau. Sheriff of Montreal ; Mr. Henry Hogan, the well-known proprietor of St. Lawrence Hall, Montreal, andHon. Louis Beaubien, are at present directors of thecompany. The first construction undertaken was the line throughMile-End, to reach the River des Prairies, and thencedown the right bank of the river to Sault au Recollet.
