Amasia apples are of no sortknown to me ; but climate and other conditions ofgrowth may have changed well-known characteristics. If it is easy to understand why Seljuk sultansshould have liked Amasia, less apparent are thecauses which drew or sent here a German colonyduring the first half of last century.
