This Great blue heron mating pair is engaged in building their nest. Generally the male will gather and bring an offering of a twig to the female who accepts it and incorporated it into the nest. Although, male and female of this species work together equitable and evenly and share the duties of nest building, egg sitting, feeding the young and spelling each other. Ardea herodias is the genus and specie name of this majestic bird. The featureless sky here has a mild texture added for intimacy.
