150401-N-GR120-315 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 1, 2015) – Personnel Specialist 1st Class Miguel Contreras fires a Browning .50 caliber machine gun off the fantail of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) April 1, 2015. Theodore Roosevelt deployed from Norfolk and will execute a homeport shift to San Diego at the conclusion of deployment. Theodore Roosevelt is conducting naval operations in the 6th Fleet area of operations in support of national security interests in Europe.
