He came to Mas- sachusetts State College as Head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering in 1914, a position which he held until his death. During his 32 years of service as Head of the Division of Engin- eering at Massachusetts State College he built up a strong de- partment and became well known in New England agricultural cir- cles for his pioneer work in rural electrification and in refrigerated storage for fruits and vegetables.
