This sculpture is situated at the former mouth of the river Rhine in Katwijk aan Zee. It is made by Nicolas Dings, a Dutch artist. On the plateau soldiers of the Roman emperor Caligula are lined up to fight against Neptune, the God of the sea. The sculpture marks the line of the Limes, the former northern border of the Roman empire.
