Automobile engineers held a meeting last week in the club roomsof the New York Automobile Trade Club and organized the Societyof Automobile Engineers, with E. T. Birdsall, of the Standard Auto-mobile Company, in the chair. Those present favored the formationof a body similar to the American Society of Mechanical Engineersin objects and work. The chief mission of the society will be theinterchange of technical automobile knowledge among the meetings will be held and papers will be read on mechani-cal topics.
