This has awakened the entire, town, and particularly the younger peo- ple, to a realization of how simple it is to beautify homes and property through the judicious use of a few bedding plants and a little shrubbery. Florists here are doing all in their power to cooperate with this city beautiful cam- paign. One prominent local florist is sending out thousands of copies of a beautiful spring planting folder, which is a real work of art. The wording of it makes a special appeal to the citizens to beautify their homes and gardens with beds' of flowers, hanging baskets and other floral decorations with a view to making Toledo the city beautiful. Mothers' Day. Mothers' day here broke all records and many florists report that their busi- ness even surpassed that of Easter. Not only were flowers of all kinds and col- ors sold, but a surprising sale of plants was recorded, much to the delight .of various florists. Saturday Was a tre- mendous day and by noon Sunday prac- tically every local florist was completely sold out and people were- still pouring in by the hundreds, asking for anything that in the least resembled a flower
